Billboard Greatest Christmas Hits 1955 - Present
Think this will be the last one I'll review this year, though we still have a stack of holiday CDs at home! Lots of fun stuff, with some cross over, but still cool.
Crossover like "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms, but also things like Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", holiday silliness like "The Chipmunk Song", a traditional "Little Drummer Boy" by the Harry Simeone Chorale and "Mary's Boy Child" by Harry Belafonte, Elvis' "Blue Christmas" makes an appearance, a return of goofiness with "Nuttin' For Christmas" by Barry Gordon, there's Charlie Brown's wonderful "Please Come Home For Christmas", the Drifters' "White Christmas" is one of the best versions to date and this comp says "to all a goodnight" with still more foolishness with "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" by Elmo'n'Patsy.
Not the best of the bunch, but some undeniable classics here. Most of these CDs can be found at discount prices, especially at the beginning of the year, so stock up while they're cheap!
