Tramp For the Lord - CD/EP

 

I really enjoyed Tramp For the Lord's opening set the other night at the Double Down and was happy to be able to pick up some music from them, even if it is simply this 4 song EP. Led by ex-Hangmen bassist Doug on guitar and lead vocals, they have a sound kinda similar to 70's-ish Bob Dylan (think "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"-era) or like if Television played alt-country music! They have an excellent, creative lead guitarist and while they sometimes perform (very effectively) simply as a two piece, here they have a rhythm section with our old pal Barry on stand up bass and a steady-rollin' drummer who holds it all together. I hope that they build on the promise of this release and produce some more music soon and hope they make it back to Vegas. Truly dug this a lot!
