The Psyatics, Melanie and the Midnite Marauders at the Double Down, Saturday Oct 7, 2017
Our pal and super-scenester, Nikki Ruffling, was celebrating her birthday this weekend, so she got some of her favorite bands together for her party at the Double Down. Melanie and the Midnite Marauders was honored to be considered among these bands and so we opened the night with our brand of high-energy honky-tonk. Good crowd, especially considering that every band we know that was playing this show was playing somewhere else this night, and they enthusiastically joined in the revelry.

One of my faves, who I have ranted'n'raved about innumerable times, the Psyatics were up next, for a change, as they usually play closer to 3:30 in the morning! They put in a rollickin' set of brand new and older tunes, all in their own noisy garage style. Always a great time!
As much as we wanted to, both Melanie and I have been feeling under the weather lately and we couldn't stick around for the Legendary Boilermakers and Water Landing. I know I will see both bands sometime soon, though.
Thanks again to Nikki and the Double Down for another rockin' night!
