Ugly Things #50

Mike Stax's Ugly Things fanzine has reached a milestone - issue #50! Starting in the early 80's, the zine has grown into one of the premier magazines dedicated to the sounds of the past and it only gets bigger and better as time goes on!

On this landmark occasion, the zine provides a great overview on the last Pretty Things electric show (which sounds like it was a true event), a huge article on SoCal’s Lost and Found (an essentially unknown 60’s combo), Cyril Jordan’s reminisces, another giant interview with Finland’s The Renegades, a fantastic talk with Lenny Kaye (a man who helped to create the 60's "revival" with his Nuggets compilation and who deserves a full biography- he’s a great interviewee with innumerable stories as well as superior writer), an overview on 60’s femmes, the Debutantes, and a copious bounty besides. Of course, the reviews are worth the price of admission on their own and are sure to send you scurrying to find more purchases for your household!

I don't know how Mike continues to keep this going over the decades, but we're all glad that he does! Here's to many more!
