Saga Volume 2 Graphic Novel - Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples
Still another random purchase from the Founders Club Book Fair (there's going to be a number of these to come), I knew nothing whatsoever about this title, other than my good wife reminding me that the author, Brian K Vaughan, also narrated Y, The Last Man, but decided to give it a whirl.
Since this is volume two, I came in during the middle of the story line, but there is a pretty good synopsis as you go along so you don't feel like you missed too terribly much. It is basically a tale of an extraterrestrial Romeo and Juliet, but even more extreme with different species falling in love and procreating. Unfortunately, they are also fugitives and so while they seek refuge with their families, they are also being hunted while experiencing some outlandish trials and tribulations all while searching out an author of an admittedly bland book who they feel is speaking to and for them, somehow.
Interesting concepts and lots more going on than I can distill into this little review, but worth checking out.
