Common Grounds Volume One

 

Writer Troy Hickman along with various artists have created a world where both superheroes and villains have a safe haven where there is no fighting allowed (we do not see the bouncers, but they are apparently impressive enough to enforce this decree) and so both sides can relax with coffee (hence the common grounds, of course) and donuts.

This leads to both sides relating to each other in ways that would otherwise be impossible. Also, "norms" can interact with the supers without fear, so there are media interviews held here, as well as simple conversations between supes and norms. 

The writing is particularly good here, in my opinion, giving a new twist to the genre while remaining entertaining and reasonably light-hearted, overall.

The concept grabbed me from the start and the comic lived up to it. Hope to see more of these!
