Chew Volume 2 International Flavor and Volume 3 - Just Deserts

I kinda got hooked on the first volume of Chew (thanks again to the good folks at Cemetery Pulp for turning me on to this!) and so I've found the next couple of volumes to keep going. Here we find Chu's old, rule-breaking partner reassembled bionically after taking a kitchen cleaver to the face in the previous volume and joining Chu as an FDA agent. On their first case together, Chu discovers something unusual - even for him - and goes off on his own in search of a strange plant that tastes like chicken. He, of course, gets involved in multiple strange adventures and unusual creatures during his investigation, not limited to vampires, fighting roosters, frogs, voluptuous USDA agents, spies, his brother and a love interest, who is a food writer.

In Volume 3, we see Chu's love life progress, there's intrigue'n'dual identities with deep cover agents, there's the return of Mason, the ex-FDA agent who recruited Chu but is now on the run, much more on Chu's current partner, Colby, a bit about Chu's strange past and the introduction of Chu's family, including his fraternal twin and his daughter! Lots of twists'n'turns, lots of linked cases and a cliffhanging ending with an unearthly phenomenon in the sky!

Definitely enjoying this wacky series - great writing and I dig the stylised artwork! More volumes on their way!
